U21 v Swansea and Reece Oxford
Went along last night expecting the previous evenings win to have an effect. The complete opposite.
Expecting to much might of been a problem.
Cullen was missing of on loan to Bradford so a bit of craft was needed by some one else.
Diangana got an early goal but after that Swansea dominated when needed. A series of attacks from West Ham broke down. With no end product.
Hardly saw Parfitt-Williams involved.
Swansea scored 2 very good goals and shot from outside the box on a chilly night which made the ball skid of the surface.
Our main problem was no decent crosses into the box and no shots, instead over elaboration .
My main concern was Reece Oxford. It was blatantly obvious that he has immense talent. But tonight his attitude seemed to be off someone who didn't really he should be here. He could of and should have ran the show but seemed more content with the odd decent pass and strolling around. He quite resembled Song with his attitude and lack of willing to give me to the team
It seemed like most of the team were in awe of him and would pass to him when there were different options.
I would of thought that with the injuries we had from Tuesday he would be chomping at the bit to show he was ready to step in.
I don't know if this a problem within the club of what to do with him but as he's to good for the U21's and probably not good enough to step into the hurly burly of mid season PL . I hope we are not afraid to tell him he still needs to put in 100% even if he does play for the U21's but it show's a poor example to other players and I think it rubbed of last night. Use Antonio and Vardy as examples or even the Swansea players who put in a great performance.
I as I said to another guy at the game, there were to many show ponies about. He totally agreed and said they've done it before.
Pity because they have been on a good run and I was looking forward more of the same .

Did Matt Grimes play for Swansea?

We'll set up normally I would have thought? Byram and Ogbonna in, the only decisions being Moses/Antonio Valencia/Emenike. Either way should have too much for the six fingered ones.

Not on team selection, just smart enough to know Bilic isn't going to swap to a system he doesn't play, the players are not used to and isn't risk playing 3 centre backs when he only has 3 fit.

It's called common sense

We'll see tomorrow but as a betting man I'd be happy to take any bet he doesn't play 5 at the back.

So where did he play against Arsenal.
Who's deluded now.
He's to good a passer of the ball to be a CB,he can do a better job than Song

He is a CB.

Anyone who thinks he could be a CM are fucking deluded.

A Bilic is not going to play 5 at the back

B IF it was in his mind he's not going to do it at the moment given he's 3 fit central defenders.

Re: U21 v Swansea and Reece Oxford
I actually think if we played a back 5 he could play the central role. Probably better than Song. I reckon he would love it too.
If we run short of options then maybe.
If we rested Antonio and Valencia for Norwich, Byram and Cresswell can bang in crosses to Carroll. As a plan B Payet feeds in Moses and the wing backs.
Adrian
Cresswell Collins Oxford Ogbonna Byram
Noble Obiang
Payet
Moses Carroll

This way Payet sits behind the front two, Moses can use his pace. Noble and Obiang break up play from the oppo.

Yea, it all seems a bit unclear now what is going to happen with the lad. My hunch is we will find a club for him in the summer who will take him on loan. Is he a CM or a CB, anyway?

I know MK Dons could've potentially taken him but weren't interested.

It's a little strange once the Charlton thing collapsed and it was public we were allowing him on loan there doesn't seem to be any takers for Oxford.
